I designed the document styles and template and authored the content.
BuilderTek is a construction app built on the Salesforce platform. They needed a user guide that explained how to use some of the modules for sales, budgeting, human resources, vendor and product management, and invoicing. I created the document design and authored the content.
As the sole Technical Writer on a newly created team, I established the document design (within company branding guidelines), interviewed SMEs for an in-depth understanding of the program and its features, and authored the content.
When Level3 developed their first app, they needed a Quick Start Guide to help their customers get access to their data - fast. I wrote the MyLevel3 Mobile App Quick Start Guide as well as the in-app help, and helped edit the UI texts and error messages.
By differentiating the products by color (in this case, red indicates the Elite series), inserting product photos, and highlighting the price in yellow, I turned something as dull as a price list into an exciting, colorful, easy-to-use piece of marketing literature.
I authored content within existing company templates.
Kiewit's Lock Out/Tag Out User Manual explains to industrial construction users what a lock out/tag out system does and how to use it. I collaborated with multiple engineering SMEs to write the procedural steps for using the app as well as descriptions of multiple forms and the printable tags required to use the system.
Among many cybersecurity products, I documented the setup of a security token.
Most of the documentation I created for CenturyLink was of a longer format - user guides, help systems, and reference guides. Occasionally, we produced a short job aid-style document to respond to a specific task or concept. This document describes the various reports, dashboards, and logs available in the CenturyLink DDoS Mitigation Service Reports feature.
I wrote and managed content for the official online documentation sites for end users (docs.microsoft.com) as well as admins (support.microsoft.com).
I authored content within existing company templates.
This API guide had an intended audience of external software developers. Within strict existing branding and formatting guidelines, I organized the content from a flat structure into a logical hierarchy and collaborated with a developer to author the command descriptions and procedural steps and create and format the code samples.

Analysis of content structure, navigation, and organization.

I created, laid out, and substantially improved the format of these flowchart diagrams. In some cases, I created the design and color scheme (following corporate branding when necessary). In many cases, I replaced non-standard shapes and either eliminated or reduced the number of crossed connections - making the flow much easier to read.
I proactively created this diagram to help other team members understand the monthly document review process (of which I was the owner).
I collaborated with SMEs to establish the process, designed the diagram color scheme, and populated and connected the shapes.
I reformatted this diagram to include properly shaped objects, add color, and reformat the Legend.

I acted as Editor on the project, including, where necessary, rewriting and restructuring the content.
I wrote a first draft of the content, submitted it to a product SME for feedback, and integrated their contribution to the text into the final version. (On a side note, the SME was so happy with the design of the document that they adopted my template for their department.)
I worked closely with several HR SMEs to author/update corporate office information, emergency procedures, contact telephone numbers and emails, time entry procedures, and other important information for contract workers.
I helped the author write a first draft of the content in English, then edited the entire book prior to publication. (I also reviewed the draft written in Chinese and made several grammatical corrections.)
I wrote roughly half of the grammatical explanations and exercises and reviewed and edited the other half before submitting for publication.
